The basic plot of this series can be summarized simply: Haruhi is god, and the main characters have to keep her entertained to keep her from destroying the world. *lol*

The main character is Kyon, a relatively ordinary guy who falls into Haruhi's orbit. He meets several eccentric characters in Haruhi's club and learns she might be god, but is unaware of it. However, if she becomes sufficiently bored or upset, bad things happen...

There's only potential yuri in the series. Haruhi admits she'd date a woman if she was a time traveller, alien, esper or something similar, but it's hard to say if she's serious. She also shows a remarkable willingness to glomp and fondle the eye candy of her club, Mikuru.

Overall, I liked the series a lot, but it's not a must see for yuri fans.
